Cinema Facts

Three of the most popular types of film at the cinema are science fiction(sci-fi), action, and horror.



SCIENCE FICTION
Most expensive film ever made was the sci-fi adventure Waterworld. The film costs $160 million. The second most expensive film was Terminator 2.

ACTION
The three Indiana Jones films were all in the top 10 most successful films of the 1980s. Each film earned at least $100 million.

HORROR
Count Dracula, The Vampire is the most frequently filmed horror character. Since his screen debut in 1931, he has appeared on film more than 160 times.

MORE FACTS......

. Cinema screens are coated with minute plastic prisms which make the screen as right as possible. Before their introduction, large screens were sprayed with water to improve reflection.

. First feature film was The Story of the Kelly Gang, made in Australia in 1906.

. Longest film ever made is The Cure For Insomnia(1987), directed by American J.H. Timmis. Lasts 85 hours.
